Guest guest
, thank you so much for taking the time to so eloquently summarize Dan's slippery slope of a PSC/insurance nightmare/transplant roller coaster. Wonderful news to hear that Dan is doing so well! I hope many here will listen carefully & learn from you/your brother's experience(s). Your words ( " you must strongly convey a sense of urgency, " for instance) were so wise! What a lesson in tenacity against seemingly impossible odds! I s'pose one of many morals to your story would be to never, ever, EVER give up (right?)! Please, do check in with us from time to time... Jim & I are living proof that post-transplant, certain things can get off-track quickly, too (not for everyone, but certainly for some, & Jim would be in that group: he does well because his advocacy isn't a 'sometimes' thing... for us, it's either a little every day, or we're snowed under by it... but going through the advocacy motions always beats the scary alternative, at least, in our book). Hopefully, Dan won't have to experience any post-tx horribleness, but God forbid, if he ever does, you'd still be able to impart precious, valuable advice to us in this support group. Knowledge & proactivity is key. Very appreciatively, Maureen, wife of Jim (UC 84, PSC 96, LRLTx from son , 12/7/01, post-transplant issues which keep us crazy-busy only occasionally, thank God!)
