Sadly before about 1960 much of Oklahoma was rural and most of the houses

had no running water. Still today there are a few “homes” which have no

indorr plumbing or even a solid floor.

When I was editor of the local paper in the mid 90s I did a story on a

family who lived in a dirt floor shack just outside Henryetta, Oklahoma. At

night you could see the light from the fireplace or candles from the

outside. Man, I’ll bet that cold wind fairly ripped through that little

shack.

Ah, sounds like some hunting cabin in upstate PA. That's where the bears are

anyway. IN fact, the campground I referred to is in upstate PA. Some of

those places are so remote, I guess using outdoor plumbing makes sense. That

is, unless it's in the middle of a blizzard or something!

how about dinner for breakfast instead?

I wanted a hot dog for breakfast so bad this morning! I all most did, but

then I thought of a hot dog for dinner too. can't have one for each meal, so

I decided to have it for dinner and not breakfast. now some folks will tell

you having pizza or chili for breakfast is way to silly and you have got a

screw loose. they say you eat only breakfast things for only breakfast and

the rest you eat when it is proper to eat them. I say if you wish for a

hamburger for breakfast, then you just feel free to do so! what is up with

all the tradition stuff anyway? folks get to tied up in junk like this

thinking they can't do this or that because what will other people think?

What difference does it really make what they think? I have had a hamburger

for breakfast and a hot dog and a pizza. never have had a beer but one time

though. maybe pop corn would be good for breakfast! how about a sheff salad

for breakfast???
