Guest guest
I say if you were to give in and eat to many carbs for a meal, then have no fear! jump on your no where bike and ride for one hour right after and your sugar nine times out of ten will come right down to the safe zone. I have done this a few times in my life and I know it does work. of course when you only take just medicine and not insulin it can be a bit harder to get it down, but drinking water and lots of exercise will do the trick. now of course you must slow down on the amount of carbs you eat the rest of the day. you can't pig out all 3 meals and then wonder why your sugar is so high? we will always have a price to pay when as a diabetic we eat more carbs in a meal when we know how bad this can treat us. we who wish to control our diabetes and keep our A1C at a safe level know we got to limit the times we mess up and over eat. of course we all will because we are humans and us humans can be weak at times. temptation is a killer most of the time if we don't flee from it. no matter how strong you think you are, don't play with fire or you will get burned. being around temptation of things you could eat, but you know what it will do to your sugar, you have to remove the temptation from your presents. I bet you know some one who will take it off your hands. I Pray each night for more strength from God to help me avoid the many temptations in our life as a diabetic. some folks will ask me what I think is the best diet out there to loose weight? well that is to easy to answer! eat as a diabetic under grate control of his sugar and you will loose unwanted pounds every time. I know now if I would have ate all those years as a diabetic has to eat for good control, then I wouldn't more then likely be in the shape I'm in now. I don't much go to the store with some one as I done many times in the past. I would always buy things that I would smell or the person with me would point it out and of course I would give in knowing it was no good for me. I got a cab driver that I can trust and have had him around for about 14 years now. I give him the plastic and the list and I wait in the cab listening to the radio. I got my cell phone on just in case he needs to call and ask a question about the list. easy to stick to the list you make this way. those smells from the bakery just kills me! I heard once that if you wish to shop in a smart way when at the grocery store, then only shop on the out side iles only. never go to the middle iles where all the junk is and never buy anything when you are waiting in line to check out! why do you think they put that junk up there at the check out area? they know most of us got time to think about it as we look it over and I think they call this impulse buying. I acted this same way when a younger pig when I went to the clubs. I would see a pretty girl and fall for her right off with out shopping around the bar to see what else was on the menu. I guess I was a impulse dater? or sucker!

Guest guest
that going out to eat was a bad temptation for me. cut way down on even doing it. instead of twice a week, I now go maybe twice a month. to many ways to mess up at a restaurant. to big of a temptation for me to over come. eating at home is much better and safe for most of us. until you get strong enough at home and make smart choices, then start going out to eat again. but my advice is don't place your self in a situation like going out to eat when it is to tempting to over eat and make bad choices. no good reason to place one's self in a bad setting as that. cut down on going out and get hold of eating right at home where you can best control the situation. once you get rolling good and feeling better about your smarter choices, then treat your self by going out to eat, but use the same smart choice and don't go to a restaurant where you know you will be tempted to eat wrong. go where they serve a lot of what you can eat. think back on all the foods that you ate out away from home and what restaurants did you get them at? then for now avoid those places. once you get the home eating under better control, then step out in public once again and have a trial run. going out to eat more then twice a month in my opinion is a bad crash waiting to happen. especially so for us who are just getting the hang of making smarter choices. no different then a alcoholic or they who still partake of Jane. they don't go hang around a bar or around guys who are sitting around sharing a fat boy. you stay away from places like that so you aren't putting your self in a situation where more then likely you will fall on your head. remove those foods from your self right now that are a temptation for you. if they are a weakness, then remove them from easy touch. give your self all the best chance to be a success that you can. if most of us set our self up for a fall, then nine out of ten trys we will fall. then it also works the other way. set your self up to be a success and more then likely you can. so many folks for so many years and this includes me as well, will do the same things, do the same old bad habits and wonder why the results aren't different? for many years I would eat like 3 men and exercise. then when I would weigh I would see my weight was the same or maybe a few pounds bigger. I would wonder why it was so? I figured I was doing the exercise, so why wasn't the pounds coming off? no different then those times when I would eat right and not so much, but no exercise was in my day. again I would wonder why the weight wasn't coming down? now I got the recipe down good and if I continue to always follow the same recipe always as it should be, then the results are 25 less pounds then I was the first of March. going out to eat to much will mess my recipe up and it won't come out right at the end of the day. all parts of the recipe are just as important as the other parts. you got a pile of exercise, another pile of eating smart, one part attitude and 3 parts Prayer. follow this recipe and those unwanted pounds will come off in time and this is a solid fact from the neighborhood gentlemen pig!
