Guest guest
Dec 29 I just wanted to give you an update on Jacquelyn. I talked to her tonight and her test results have been very bad. Her liver is in failure and there is no possibility of a 3rd transplant. This Autoimmune Hepititis is killing her liver very quickly. The doctors have decided to take drastic measure to try to save her liver. Tonight she will be given 1000 mg of Prednizone(spelling?) to try to ward off shock tomorrow when they start treatments to kill her entire immune system. This will consist of a series of treatments that at a minimum will make her very, very sick. She will also be extremely suseptible to any kind of germ that comes her way. These treatments are so harsh that it could put her system in shock which could kill her (although her doctor thought that was a very slim chance. She is not looking forward to this treatment but she is facing it with the same grace that she has faced all other trials. Dec 30 Dear Friends, I just wanted to keep you updated. I talked to Luke about 4PM. They started the treatments about 1:15 and she has tolerated it so far. They had said that if she were to go into shock it would be in the first little while so it looks like her body has succeeded in tolerating the treatment. She will probably be very ill tonight/tomorrow after the treatment tho. She told me today they are going to do at least 6 and she hopes they are able to do them straight in a row in order to get it over with.
