Guest guest
the past ten years I would say when ever I eat steak I have a hard time digesting it. I have no clue why, but after eating it for dinner around 5-30, it still feels like it is there just hanging out in my throat or near that area. nothing else ever makes me feel this way but steak does. hate to give up steak. don't eat it but maybe twice a month. made a T bone on the grill and halfed it with the wife. had it sitting in the ice box for about eight hours in all those spices just hanging out being prepared for the grill. O it was just so good, but then I will pay to night. I will wait until nine to get in bed, but telling you right now it isn't going to be a fun night. never is when I eat steak for dinner. I may have to start grilling it of a morning and have it for breakfast instead. let it sit in it's spices over night. nothing wrong with steak for breakfast! I may digest it much better if it goes in at breakfast and not four hours before bed. wonder why other meats don't do the same thing? this is why I got to bring this q to you who are the experts. I know right where to go in order to find all the right answers I need. ok! off to the shower and then sit around and give the steak time to be nice and then try to sleep. I left part of the moo still in the steak and this might be part of the problem? hate over done steak though. A bit of blood and moo still in the steak is what makes it finger licking good! warm it up on both sides and tare in to it. well you got to let it rest about ten minutes first and then you can tare in to it. no need for a silly cork and knife. just pick it up and eat it like a hungry bear because you are home and who is there to care? now please don't try this in a restaurant! folks will stare at you and wonder if all blind people eat with there hands? Guest guest
Not sure, but a few things you mentioned prompted the following thoughts: 1. The cut of the steak. On the rare occasions we have steak, we only have filet, and it requires no marinating. It melts in your mouth. It is more expensive, but since you don't need a large steak (4 oz. per person is recommended), it is a viable option. 2. Your steak may be under-cooked. 3. Too many spices. Guest guest
Use few spices when cooking steak. A little salt and black pepper will do. Medium rare is the way to go. Chew each bite around 40 times before swallowing it.Sip some red wine with the meal.

Guest guest
A 4 ounce steak? Geez, might as well eat a Mcs quarter pounder. (LOLLOLLOL) Now, the Filet Mignon is the correct cut but let’s make that about a 7 or so ounce size. If the blamed meat has been aged longer than 15 minutes it should require no meat tenderizer to make it chewable. I agree that a little salt and pepper should do the trick for seasoning and medium rare should make it nice and juicy. The big problem is that it is very hard to get aged meat these days. Way in the distant past 21 days was the optimum for aging. The outside of the side (1/2 of the whole beef hung in a refrigerator for 21 days at about 50F) would yield some melt in your mouth steaks and roasts. Even today’s 14 day limit by the health department will do – almost. If you have problems digesting the beef you might also take a look at the ingredientws in those spices and tenderizer you are using. MSG (MonoSodiemglutinate) is very bad for the human digestive system and really should be eliminated from your diet. Also, many years ago the wonderful government changed the grading system for beef. What used to be U.S. Good is now U.S. Choice and what used to be Canner and Cutter is now U.S. Good. The absence of the fat marbeling in the beef also adds to the toughness of today’s beef. Stick with pork, it is much more tender and a nice pork loin roast is really hard toi beat. Guest guest
For the most part I agree with Cy. Locally, I went to the Prime Steak House, and ordered a prime steak. I learned I am use to eating the poor man's cut of steak, choice steak, which does not have much fat in it. I just did not like the fat content of the prime steak, even though it tasted good when eaten rare. I am Geert Wilders, Harry
Guest guest
Beef in general does the same thing for me. Ground beef does not do it, but any other form does. I think beef in general is just harder to digest than other meats. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Mark Ruth Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2012 6:57 PM To: blind diabetics Subject: digesting steak. is it a problem for any one other then me? the past ten years I would say when ever I eat steak I have a hard time digesting it. Guest guest
actually when I don't add any thing other then salt and pepper, I still have trouble digesting it. I've been told as we age some of us have trouble digesting meat like beef. the spices I put on it like yesterday is MRS. dash. I don't use the meat ender riser junk they have on the market. I only buy good cuts of meat when I buy steak. don't ever buy Sirloin, round or shoulder. these cuts to me are cheap and tough as a boot. I like the higher end duts like rib eye, T bone or porter house and the strips like Kansas City or New York. do dig pork loin, bue saw bones told me to stop eating pork of any kind. haven't been able to go cold turkey yet, but maybe some day. funny thing, though, when I eat hamburger it is fine digesting it. only the steak is what I have trouble with. I've had to go in a few times to the doc that runs the scope down your throat or the other end. he has had to stretch my opening going to my stomach. he says it isn't large enough and he thinks this narrowing passage may have something to do with beef not digesting. he also said beef will lay in the stomach longer then any other meat and this is another reason why I have trouble with digestion of steak. fish, chicken and the rest I have no problem. plus after eating steak not only do I have trouble with digesting it, but I feel rather blodded for a few days after eating it. I've known other who said they had the same trouble with beef of any kind and finally stopped eating it all together. the thought of giving up a fine cut of steak really hurts my heart! also really dig a fine prime rib. most folks say I may as well just eat a rost instead and save money. I actually don't really like beef roast, but do like pork roast better. digesting steak. is it a problem for any one other then me? the past ten years I would say when ever I eat steak I have a hard time digesting it.
