Guest guest
Barb,My son has complained several times about numbness in his hands and that his hands "go to sleep" on him.I will see him giving his hands a shake as if to wake them up.Another worry.LeeKen told me yesterday that he has a new symptom – his last 2 fingers on his left hand are totally numb. He said he could cut them off and never feel it. Has this happened to anyone else? Barb in Texas
Guest guest
Sounds like damage to the ulnar nerve. Although if that alone is the cause then there should be some feeling left on the inside of the ring finger. Immediately post transplant I had numb hands caused by pinched nerves due to awkward positioning during the 8 hour surgery. It took several days for the numbness to subside and the pinky and ring fingers were the last to come back. But that would not be the cause of Ken or Bill's symptoms. Guest guest
Barb, Todd never had this happen. I feel so bad that I can’t give you an answer, since you always come to our aid with all of our questions. I sure hope you find out what is causing this soon. Joanne (mom of Todd) Numb Fingers ?? Guest guest
Noah has had this and went to the neurologist today and they did extensive testing on his hands and feet with a tuning fork type thing. Thankfully he felt the vibrations, so he checked out okay. It might be something you want to try with Ken and Bill though. This was honestly just one of many symptoms we were in there for. Numb feet and hands… Just a thought… I don’t know what the “fix” would be, but you might talk to your tx coordinator or whoever about referring out for this. Noah’s coordinator referred him out for this. I was confused at first and now today after seeing all he tested him for I GOT IT.
