It was measured at 6.1

just saying, Harry

Don't you know we can spend our way out of debt at least that is what Democrats

believe, at least the majority of them do.

Good job, Harry! If I'm not mistaken, this is lower than you've been. Right?

In the past I have had A1C's in the range of 5.1 and 5.2, but this is not the

goal of my indocrinologist. So in the future, they will run higher.

I'm not convinced we should strive for near normal A1C readings. My observations

over the years lead me to believe as long as we maintain enough control and keep

our daily readings somewhere near normal (not necewssarily under 120 at all

times, but at least no higher than 160 for the most part), we will avoid most if

not all complications. I'm not sure what this translates to as far as A1C, but

it's kind of what I strive for, and my A1C's have been running below 6% for a

few years now. Just my nickel's worth.

well then you are saying that a 7.3 or lower should be ok? 159 is 7.3 A1C.

most saw bones say under 7 they can live with. some now even say 6.5 is better.

I'm thinking around and close to 5.5 and 6 would be ideal. I think below 5.5 can

be trouble maybe. between 90 and 105 is 5 to 5.5. this is why I think I can hold

the 105 to 120 and be ok. this is 5.5 to 6. looks like to me if your numbers

never went higher then 135 and no lower then 90, then you should be able to

maintain this with no problems. we will see next Friday when I go see the

diabetes specialist and see what he finds out. my last score of the A1C says it

was 12.7 and that was in February 29'th. I'm hoping for 6.5 my self, but it may

not take that big of a drop in 3 months even though my numbers have been so good

for 90 plus days.

When I mentioned the 160, this refers to a temporary spike. If the blood glucose

level hung there for a long period of time, then no, it wouldn't be good. For us

who are t1, it's very difficult if not impossible to keep bg readings under that

magical number of 120 24/7. There are times it will spike, but the secret is to

get it back down, either with exercise, or a combination of exercise and

insulin.
