Do I have rosacea?

Hi everyone, I'm really confused about my condition and really don't

know if this is the right forum for me or not. My face is constantly

red, it always has been since I was around 12 (i'm 27 now). This has

caused enormous psychological damage and social dread. However, I

hardly ever get any acne (on the red areas anyway) but I do have

small bumps on my face sometimes (but I don't know if that's just

from where hair grows), and my nose is not red. I'm sick of being

looked at twice because of my condition and feel really self-

conscious whenever I hear a laugh behind me. I have done some

research on the net and I think I either have rosacea or Idiopathic

Craniofacial Erythema (www.redmask.org). My girlfriend seems to think

the redness is 'cute' or 'like a baby face', but it has given me

nothing but heartache and mental pain. I asked my doctor to refer me

to a dermotologist, but he refused saying that there was really

nothing wrong with my skin, if fact he said it was 'healthy'. I'd

like to know if anyone else on this list has the same type of

condition I do.

Many people on this list have the redness without the

acne, so it is possible. As far as your doctor is

concerned, I would suggest you get a second opinion.

I have redness, dryness and flakiness on my cheeks,

but never acne, and I have been diagnosed with

rosacea. I've found that Dr. Sy's skin care

products have really worked for me to tone down the

redness and keep the dryness at bay. So yes, it's

very possible that you have rosacea, but I would go to

a dermatologist in order to get an accurate diagnosis.
