Just about everything you ingest either goes through your kidneys or

liver. Just about everything, in large quantities, is damaging to one

or the other (sometimes both). Nutrasweet (aspartame) is probably the

most well-researched artificial sweetener, period. We know it's

behavior better than sugar itself.

Personally, I think there are far worse things to worry about. There

are few, if any reputable studies showing aspartame to be toxic. As

always, there are some individuals that are sensitive to substances

that don't bother the majority of the population. My mother is one of

those that cannot tolerate aspartame; similarly, I cannot tolerate

sulfer dioxide in apricots (or guacamole, wine, etc.).
