Guest guest
Just about everything you ingest either goes through your kidneys or liver. Just about everything, in large quantities, is damaging to one or the other (sometimes both). Nutrasweet (aspartame) is probably the most well-researched artificial sweetener, period. We know it's behavior better than sugar itself. Personally, I think there are far worse things to worry about. There are few, if any reputable studies showing aspartame to be toxic. As always, there are some individuals that are sensitive to substances that don't bother the majority of the population. My mother is one of those that cannot tolerate aspartame; similarly, I cannot tolerate sulfer dioxide in apricots (or guacamole, wine, etc.).
