Guest guest
, Ask your docs how familiar they are with PSC. People on this site have had drs who knew little about the disease, including me. You need a gastroenterologist who has connections to a transplant center so they can work together. In the best of all medical worlds, you can go to a center that will have a comprehensive team, and they are all connected by their handy-dandy lap tops. That way all test results, notes, meds and other info are available to all the docs you see. The system at U. of Mich. is like that and I truly appreciate it. I took my sister to see her drs about her breast cancer and she was carrying x-rays, and lab reports by hand. How Primitive!!! My dx of UC was reached after the correct dx of PSC was determined with a needle biopsy. Then the fact that I had diarrhea, resulted in a colonoscopy. At that point the doc knew what he was looking for and found it. It can all be scary. What kind of sense does it make to ask a dr to go find something you don't want to have? However, once it is found then it can be treated. Keep asking question. Take Care MizKit
