Guest guest
Could someone kindly find an image of Asian grocery market type rice wraps for sandwiches? I don't know what I'm looking for so I keep coming up with Chinese buffet restaurants in my Google search. I'd really like to see what you're talking about so I have a chance of finding such things in my local stores. To other RIers: where is an Asian grocery market in RI (esp Northern), SE Mass, etc? I'm willing to drive to " the Island " if that's what it takes. HA HA! But Kent County? I'd have to pack a lunch. ];-)
Guest guest
The Food For Life Brown Rice Tortillas are the ones I buy. I get them at our local food coop. Their web site is: http://www.foodforlife.com/ The site is a bit annoying on dial-up (which I have), but you can see an image of them. ly, I think they are only okay for sandwiches since they fall apart unless they are very freshly frozen. Heated, they are pretty good, but once they cool the slightest bit, they tend to crack. They do make wonderful things like quesidillas (sp?) The rice wraps I get in Asian stores are spring roll wrappers. They are great for spring rolls and fried egg rolls, but not more traditional sandwiches. They look kind of like a 7-inch piece of cloudy plastic. You run them under hot water for 5 seconds, and they become gummy/elastic. They are really good if you like to put all kinds of par-boiled veggies and left over meat or fish in them. Here is a picture of them: http://www.importfood.com/nrga1222.html Good luck,
