Guest guest
I am sorry that I have not been very active on here. My Mom just had a lobectomy on the 12th after a few months of chemotherapy for cancer. The surgery went well, she is now considered cancer “free”. She will be coming home tomorrow. But the real reason I am writing is to let everyone know that on Monday the 26th Suzanne will be having her colon removed. I don’t remember if I wrote to the group about her new surgeon, Dr. Burns (at Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh). He will be doing the pull thru with J-pouch in one step so she will not need to have a stoma. Of course it all can change once they go in there, but that would be the best case scenario. The first surgeon we went to said that it would take two steps with needing a stoma temporarily. Suzanne has a caringbridge site (suzannelengyel) that she has written on a few times, I will be using that to provide updates. It proved so helpful with my Mom’s journey. Guest guest
Dear ,I'll be thinking of you both. Call me anytime if I can help. Not only is everything going to be OK but it is going to be better.I stayed with Bill the first couple of nights and made sure he did the deep breathing and coughing whenever the nurses woke him. This kept his lungs clear. For when she comes home, stock up on gatorade, soup and saltine crackers. Gingerale and scrambled eggs and then pancakes were what Bill wanted to eat when he was ready. You can email me anytime also. All my best to you both,LeeBut the real reason I am writing is to let everyone know that on Monday the 26thSuzanne will be having her colon removed. Guest guest
Dear , I am also pulling for you and Suzanne. I will pray that the surgery is a success and that Suzanne recovers quickly without any further invasions. I just want to say what a terrific Mom you are. You have exhausted all alternative therapies before reaching this decision. Suzanne should feel comfortable knowing this is the best treatment method based on all the leg work and research you have done. It's time for good things to happen now. All the best, Omaha/Tarheel Tim
Guest guest
Hello, Glad to hear your mum is doing well. That should give you a bit less worrying, hopefully as you take care of Suzanne. Tell her we all wish her well and with her spirit, she will be up in no time. Give her a kiss from me. I wish her God's love.
