SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2006 06:23 AM, CST One year ago today received a new pair of lungs from some young child whose parents were kind and generous enough in their time of saddness to allow my son a chance to get better. Today, his lungs are doing beautifully. We know the liver's not so great, but his lungs are, and I'm quite certain that would not be here today if it weren't for getting his new lungs when we did. Below is the caring bridge entry for the day of his transplant. Ami 10:40 am: came through surgery beautifully, everything went well. He's on a ventillator right now and will be for at least a couple days it sounds like. They've got him quite heavily sedated to keep him from pulling it out or being too frightened with it. 's biggest worry about this was having a catheter in and having it removed when he was awake and having to pee for the first time after - LoL. I don't really know a whole heck of a lot else at the moment. Busy trying

to make phone calls to everyone I need to make phone calls to. I don't know a whole lot beyond that right now. Am going to take a shower and then probably head over to see him. And that's about it. Love to you all!!!!!!! 9:20 pm: has been in surgery for approximately 2 hours now. Dr. Harrington said in pre-op that one of their surgeons from here went to see them and they're perfect. So far everything is going okay. He's ready to go onto bypass, but they're not going to put him on until the lungs arrive, which should be in about half an hour or so. I don't have much else for news at this time. I'll update again as soon as I have more information. -Ami 6:30 am: We got the phone call at 5:30 this morning. We're supposed to have to the hospital by 7:00 am. They have lungs for him. They're pretty sure they'll be perfect. He has to be there this morning and he'll be into surgery by this afternoon. Those who choose to call in your support, we moved rooms so you can't call our old room at the house. And we won't be there right now anyway. You can call my cell if you have it (or Jon's) though you may have to wait for a return call - LoL. Otherwise, leave a note here or send an e-mail. And please start lighting candles, saying prayers, sending energies. Please. And I've got about half an hour, so I'm going to go lose my mind now. Thankfully Jon is here, and . Beaker & Dee are at a

hotel with . Mom's on her way, and Ang is coming tomorrow.
