Guest guest
Hi. It's Janet from Jersey. I used to post quite a bit, but I've been a lurker for quite a while now because I became asymptomatic. However, I read the posts every day. I've been feeling kind of weird lately. At any given time during the day and/or evening, I feel as if I'm going to faint. I have to fight REAL HARD to keep from falling over and I have no clue why this is happening. My gastro told me to check with my primary care physician and I have an appointment to see him on Tuesday, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has been or has had symptoms like this. Guest guest
It might be blood pressure dropping. You could figure it out by buying an electronic blood pressure cuff (about $50) and measureing your blood pressure sitting and standing and show the information to your primary care doctor. It could be other things like: heart rhythm abnormalities, positional vertigo, neuropathy, medications, or low blood sugar. I can't think of anything specific to PSC unless you are on diuretic medication for ascites or have lost a lot of weight. Good luck Tipsey from Jersey. ---Von > > Hi. Guest guest
Janet, Portal hypertension may have led to a hidden bleed in your gastrointesional track that could produce fainting due to loss of blood. One indication of this would be black tary stools that are very smelly. (Vomiting blood would be another, but that gets ones attention immediately!) If you have lost blood to the point of feeling faint, you should get someone to take you to the ER (or take a taxi - don't drive yourself) and report your symptoms, PSC diagnosis and likely cause of the fainting.
