That's how it works. Take care, and keep us updated on how you are doing. Guest guest
Glad to hear from you Tracey. Pop in when you can. Sorry about your crummy hospital care! Cheryl in CA -- Hello everyone Hi Everyone,Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce (or re-introduce) myself. My name is Tracey, I'm just shy of 41 years old and I live in Canada. I was very ill for many years from some major medical problems I had (my problems were the result of "ensteinian" doctor who performed his "own" experimental surgery on me rather than the one I signed up for - and he never informed me, or his many other victims, of his experiments) I was ill enough that on several occasions my family was called to hospital as I was not "expected to make it through the night" (harder on them than me, I was barely aware of anything) and was finally put into the hospital for Palliative Care ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome. As you can see by the mail you've been reading, this is a great group... I am sure those who have gone into remission were told that they probably wouldn't. We have a woman on the list who went into remission, maybe she could tell you more about that. We actually have a few people, who after a successful treatment, went into remission. I'm not one of them YET. We have to remain hopeful.. I look forward to getting to know you a little better as time goes on. Hugs, Jo

Guest guest
Welcome , You did not bore me. I am sorry that you have had a rough year. But you have come to the right place, we are a great group for advice, a laugh or 2 and most important a shoulder to lean on. My name is Lin I live in Oregon, I am 46 and have had this monster for 1 1/2 years. Again Welcome and don't worry about boring any of us. Lin -- HELLO EVERYONE HI- MY NAME IS CHRISTINA, AND I JOINED THE GROUP ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO. I WASN'T AWARE OF THE AMOUNT OF EMAIL, SO IT HAS TAKEN ME A WHILE TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. I AM 27 AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH RSD 1 YEAR AGO TODAY. I HAVE HAD NERVE BLOCKS, A CERVICAL CATHETER, AND NOW HAVE A PERMANENT SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR, ALONG WITH ALL OF MY MEDS. MY DOCTOR TOLD ME IN JULY THAT I WILL MOST LIKELY NEVER GO INTO REMISSION, AND THAT I WILL NEVER REGAIN USE OF MY DOMINANT HAND. I AM CURRENTLY TRAINING MY OTHER HAND TO BE DOMINANT AND ALSO STRUGGLING WITH EVERYTHING ELSE. IT'S NICE TO KNOW THAT THERE IS OTHER PEOPLE TO TALK TO WHO ALSO DEAL WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. SORRY TO BORE EVERYONE, BUT I WASN'T SURE HOW PEOPLE NORMALLY INTRODUCE THEMSELVES. TAKE CARE. CHRISTINA (XTINA8877@...)

Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I am totally new here. I am a 39 year old female in NJ, just diagnosed with PSC. I am really shocked to find out I have this disease - so far I guess I am really lucky as I have no symptoms.I was just diagnosed with UC which they thought was Crohn's at first...but even with this I have no symptoms... I had a liver biopsy when they noticed my liver & spleen were enlarged and they thought that was due to me being over weight. I am supposed to have some other tests... I am really up and down with my emotions. I am wondering how you are all doing and your situations. How long have you been living with this disease, who are the best Doc's to treat us? I was thinking of going to the conferance in Denver to see what other info I can find out and meet some of you. Thank you all for your time and input. Tammy V. Guest guest
Hi Tammy I've only just joined the group myself but see that we're sharing similar experiences. I was first diagnosed with UC in 2002 and PSC in 2005 by way of ERCP following months of eratic liver function tests. When I now think back to some strange occurences that happened over the years even prior to my UC diagnosis, I half wonder if it wasn't early (undetected) symptoms of PSC. In any event, I haven't got my headspace around this one fully yet; however, when my partner mistakenly called it PVC to some friends, I had to laugh. I guess in some respects it is somewhat of an issue with the internal plumbing .... As far as symptoms go, mine are mostly itching and mostly still controllable by way of antihistamines at this point. I've found dietary changes to be of some help--following mostly a gluten free diet as certain foods exacerbate the itching. And of course, like many here, I started taking URSO which in my mind acts similar to Draino for my liver (maybe we should be calling it PVC afterall). Anyway, while not trying to belittle anyone's situation, I feel humour is one of our best allies together with actively trying to maintain a positive attitude and of course good overall health (it's all relative). I work in healthcare myself in a rehab setting and I have to say, this is going to be my biggest challenge yet. Fryns Hamilton ON Canada (anyone else in this neck of the woods?) Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I'm sorry to hear about your recent PSC diagnosis, but I'm glad that you found this group so quickly. All of us have our ups and downs with emotions, and especially when we are first diagnosed. Feel free to ask any questions you have. There will always be someone in the group who will answer you. If you can come to the conference, you will learn an enormous amount of information about PSC from our physician speakers, who will cover many topics related to PSC. Just as importantly, there will be a lot of time to meet other PSCers to share your questions, concerns, experiences, etc. You will find yourself surrounded by a compassionate family of PSCers who understand everything that you are going through right now. To learn more about the conference, go to www.pscpartners.org/conf2007.htm If you decide to join us at the conference, try to send your registration form/check in by March 13, so that you won't have to pay the late registration fee. If you have any questions about the conference, feel free to write to me at pscpartners@... Hang in there! Guest guest
Dear Tammy, Welcome to the group and it is great that you found this group. I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I hope to meet you in Denver at the conference. You will learn so much and meet some of the greatest people ever. The attendees (patients and/or caregivers) range from just diagnosed with no symptoms to already transplanted. I was very apprehensive the first year I attended, but I was so glad I did. I know if you do decide to attend, it will be a decision you will be glad you made. Hope to meet you soon. Guest guest
-Taniesha sorry, I know how discouraging this may be. I know they continue to keep an eye on it because of the GERD. The thought is that the acid reflux causes problem. They may be able to do some surgery ask the doc about that.
