Guest guest
Hello I have ACM2 with syrninx and was decompressed a few years ago...recently I have had severe bladder problems...and have went and saw a urologist..and did all the tests..and tried to take all of the different medications...Ditropan..DetrolLA..etc...and nothing has worked..I am not incontinent, nor do I have accidents...I just always feel like I have to urinate..my bladder never feels empty..and it is way worse at night...my doctor wants me to have a procedure called Lystocopy with hydrodistention...he decribed it to me as " stretching the bladder " so that my bladder will hold more, and therefore I won't feel the need to go so often..I can't find anything about this online..and I was wondering if anyone has had this procedure done..and if so how it turned out...thank you
Guest guest
Dawn, I had this procedure down so many times I can't even count. They normally do this for the diagnoses of IC. (Interstitial Cystitis.) I suffered for years with this. I mean about 14 years. They explained to me, that the problem was that your bladder lining gets a crack in it and therefore you get a diaper rash inside where it isn't protected. By stretching the bladder, it causes it to heal and therefore, this rash stops occurring for a while. This is not a permeant solution. There are many medications they can give you to help with the pain. Sometimes, eating things that are real citric, i.e., oranges, will also make the pain worse. This surgery takes no time at all. I think the whole thing is done within an hour from start to finish. However for me the pain from the surgery was worse then the pain I had to begin with. I had this procedure done any way, because after about six weeks it finally got better. With IC, you feel like you have to go pee even if you just went. I would go, get back into bed and a few min later feel like I had to go again. It took seeing two urologist before I was dx with IC. If you would like to know more, please email me privately! Good luck! Hugs Robin
