Guest guest
Hello everyone, I've missed several months of postings because I had cholangitis in November and had to wait until January for a balloon dilation. It was a success and I feel much better. We have a PSC support group in the Sacramento area (anyone from Northern California can join--email me off-line). One of our members, , has been waiting for a liver at U.C. San Francisco for one year. His MELD is around 19-20 and because of the shortage of livers in the Bay Area, he will have to wait until his MELD is between 25-30 before he can hope for a transplant. I asked if he wanted the group to pray for him. He said that instead of prayer, he would like people who belong to churches or other religious organizations to ask their pastors to speak to their congregations about organ donation and to encourage them to register as organ donors at https://www.donatelife.net/. While we all want to find a cure for PSC, we can also help more people survive PSC and other liver diseases if we recruit more organ donors. I think has a great idea and I hope folks in this group who have religious affiliations will follow-up on this. (Sacramento, PSC + UC 2001) See you all in Denver. Guest guest
Good idea ! I will miss seeing you and Mark this year. I will not be able to make it out. L Noah is not well enough for me to leave, and money is tight. I enjoyed my time getting to know everyone last year though. I have even had a very generous offer from and angel to pay my way and give me accommodations while there. I just can’t see leaving Noah with my in-laws right now. I would never tell them that. He can hardly make it a day at school I am so sorry to hear for your friend, . Please give him our regards. It is so sad to hear stories like this. I had all these grand ideas of donating to Noah, and I think those are all but OFFICIALLY smashed…as my cholesterol is over 250 and I am betting that that would be a preventing factor. This is even after losing a ton of weight. UGH! I was up around 190 and now am (as of today) down to 149. Whoo hoo! I crossed the 150 mark. I am officially no longer overweight…I am normal…okay that might be debatable. LOL! I hope you continue to have good health. I have missed your posts. Big hugs to you. I am excited to have done it over the winter though. I even have guns as my daughter put it. LOL! (muscles on my arms...as I have been doing lots of yoga) Love,
