Guest guest
Did anyone see last night’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition? The homeowner had lost her son in a car accident (He at the tender age of 16 had signed his card to became an organ donor). It was a wonderful show! They asked the workers (looked like several hundred people) who had an organ donor card – then proceeded to sign up everyone who didn’t have one. I held my breath, but they did say – now go home and tell your family about your decision. The homeowner also got a chance to meet the recipient of her son’s heart – it tore TJ & I up. It was so unbelievably moving! The donor mom and the parents of the girl who received the heart, were so in tuned with each other. Each knew exactly what the other felt, what each tear drop meant, and so too any viewer who was involved with organ transplants in any way. It turned out that the recipient of the boys heart was an artist (she made a painting for the new house – that tore us up too!) What really hit home was the donor’s sister who said (after meeting the recipient) “now I know why my brother died, so she could live!” It was, by far, the best thing TJ & I have ever seen promoting organ donation. It made you want to jump right up and run to your computer for an organ donor card. No bones about it, after seeing this show you knew exactly what “Giving The Gift of Life” meant. Guest guest
Oh yes, , and I all watched it last night. And we all cried. It was a GREAT promotion of organ donation. It was a very touching show, and I do hope it reached those that are on the threshold of signing up. It certainly showed the love and life that can be brought through donation. -Brother, , 30, UC & PSC 2 weeks from today we will be heading to San to go through Transplant Evaluation Testing......
