these numbers are coming down real nice like. snacks are fine as long as you

can control them. I find once I start to snack, well at times the snacking

monster gets loose and takes over. soon the snacks tie together and before I

know it I ate the house down and shot the sugar in to space. be careful when

snacking. I have also learned that if I drink a large glass of water instead

of always thinking I got to snack, well it does help and most of the time

the need to snack goes on down the road. my advice down through many years

of being over weight was that most of the time I wasn't hungry as my body

was trying to tell me, but actually it was crying for more water. I thought

they with this advice back then was nuts to say the least, but I now know

they were much smarter then I and it was they who had the grate advice to

live by. water really does chase a hunger pane out of your neighborhood for

a fact. I dig plain water, but some don't and they do now sell flavored

powder that you can give water a nice taste if you don't like it plain and

it has no sugar. nothing can hit the empty spot in your stomach like a glass

of cold water!

Subject: afternoon sugar

My sugar this afternoon was 109. It was 151 this morning.

Had a table spoon of coconut oil in oatmeal and wasn't hungry.

Might have to go for a snack.

I had some cottage cheese with sulsa and 4 pickled beets and my coffee drink

and some water.

Should've had the water first.

Going to my friend's house for dinner.

I told her right now I'm not hungry.

She will be here around 6.

That will be good since I ate at 26 after 3.

what is wrong with the pickeled beets, etc? My,you hve to eat

something. I'm thinking too thatif you are going for dinner and saying

you aren't hungry you could be setting yourself up for late night

snacking. We all need meals. Eat them in moderation and enjoy them.

Becky, I just thought of something someone told me early on with my

diabetes, and I did it for a while. They said that when you have a meal

that works for you, write it down in a notebook or on pc or somtthing.

Build up your own list of meals that you enjoy and work well with carbs

and stuff. Well I did that for a long time and I still wnt to add to it.

Ican go in there and say wow this was 130 carb and it is chicken ----

whatever and it will be perfect. Hope you get to try this.

Hi Vicki,

I went to dinner and had meatloaf, salad, peas, and potatoes.

No seconds.

I did eat that lunch with the pickled beets.

Don't they have sugar?
