Guest guest
Polly and Steve I was first diagnosed with liver disease when I was 30, 3 months after having my first baby. I received a liver transplant when I was 52, 4+ years ago, and it has greatly improved my life. Keep in mind that when you get a new liver, you trade one medical condition for another, but you definitely come out a winner. There are lots of pills to take, surgery to recover from and usually extenuating medical problems, but after awhile, life becomes very good. My kids are now 21 and 26 and they have learned that life can throw some real problems at anyone, but solutions can be found. I have learned to enjoy the positive, and focus on how much better I feel now. Steve can look forward to many years with his family, the survival rates are going up. He will see his kids graduated from high school and have to cough up some college tuition, and he will enjoy it. Take Care MizKitAOL now offers free email to everyone.
