Guest guest
I just happen to have the invacare brochure right here. Recently i was looking into other systems. The man at the medical supply showroom said that it works very well. Of course i am skeptical. The nice thing about it, is that it doesn't freeze like with the Helios. The tanks for the invacare homefill are specially made for that system. My suggestion is that you go right into the Invacare web site and read about it from them. You can go into almost any web site [Helios, Inogen, etc] and get info directly from the manufacturer. Then you would need to find a supplier in your area, if you want that equipment. Of course, the local supplier should check the equipment to make sure it is working correctly. They should even show you how to use it correctly. With all of my research, i am still using the Helios.Pink Joyce IPF 3/06 Pennslvania
Guest guest
Pink Joyce You mention your Helios freezing. Do you have the basic model which is the Helios Plus or the Helios Marathon? When is it freezing? I ask because I've had experience with all three of their products and I've been using primarily the Marathon for the last six months and haven't had a single freeze with it. I think based on when you're having the problem, I might be able to toss a few tricks to you that will help. > > I just happen to have the invacare brochure right here. Guest guest
Pink Joyce Well, the Plus freezes more easily than the Marathon but a couple of hints to try. They've probably taught you to listen for the sound and look for any exhaust but make sure you have any tv or radio off to do that easier. I'm sure they've taught you to dry both the Helios connectors and the reservoir before filling. I keep a towel on the handle of the reservoir to be handy. Make sure its firmly down on the connector. However, here is one they don't normally teach. While filling it pause a couple of times in the process. Do not remove it from its position on the reservoir. Just let the handle that you pull down to fill go back up into position. After a few seconds pull it back down and let it continue filling. Do this maybe a third and maybe two thirds of the way through your estimated fill time. It keeps it from getting quite as cold on certain parts. I hope that helps you a little. Yes, if it does freeze, the wait is generally 20 minutes to an hour if its a real bad freeze. Thats a reason most fill about 30 minutes before they're heading out just to be safe. That way it doesn't really hurt anything if it freezes. > > > > I just happen to have the invacare brochure right here. Recently i > was looking into other systems.
