I want to know too!

I have a cane and I also have a walker that I haven't needed to use yet thankfully, but I bought it at a Flea Market for winters just in case if I did need to use one because of the ice.....

But, to be able to find something to put on the bottoms to make them non-slippery would be GREAT!

So Laurie...Spill the beans.....What's this IcePick thing!

Thank you for the information. I think up here in Oregon a lot of people are infected by this. I always keep lights on unless it is sunny outside.

Next Wednesday is the shortest day of the year, so after that the days are getting longer. Around here it is dark around 4:30 or so.

I think I suffer from the opposite, when the days are the longest, I want it to get around 8 that would be perfect. There are some days that it doesn't get dark around here until 10. A cou5ple of years ago we went to St. Louis to visit some friends and I noticed that it seemed to get darker there earlier. So I am wondering if the farther away from the equator the shorter and or longer the days are. Any thoughts on this, or is my mind completely gone lol.

There's a disease call SAD and I think I suffer from it just a little

I think it's called Seasonal Affective Disorder. As it gets darker earlier and the sun is further away, it affects our mood. It's important to keep lights on in the house and get out if possible. They say sunning beds help with this, but of course it has its disadvantages also!

Love,

N.

Thanks for the information Ginny, I have heard of this before but I thought that they had called it something else, maybe it is one of these days that my memory doesn't work too well.

I have Katelin here today but she is busy watching blue clues, so Nana is busy addressing a few more Christmas cards, you know those few that sent you one but you didn't send 1 back. So that's been my morning, hope everyone is having a good afternoon,

Lin, SAD is Seasonal Affective Disorder. It is a depression disorder that comes from lack of sunlight. In the winter they may suffer from symptoms of depression that usually get better in spring and summer and then return during late fall. They sell special lights to help during the winter months to have on you at work and at home during the winter months which seems to help. My aunt suffers from SAD...she has 2 rooms she spends most time in and has the special lights in those rooms. Hugs..Ginny

Thanks for the Plavix information...it seems any medication my husband takes is bad for the liver.

He has several heart stents and I guess the Cardiologists are more concerned about keeping the stents from clogging than end stage liver disease.

I am thinking we should go outside the VA health care system. We have Medicare, maybe we should try some new doctors either here in Arkansas or maybe Memphis, Tennessee.

I'm being lazy, not researching, but since others have been on

Coumadin - does coumadin have fewer potential side effects for the

liver than Plavix? Of course Coumadin requires blood testing and has

higher bleeding risk. Thoughts?
