Guest guest
Here is an update from Jacquelyn - Her youngest Calvin just turned 10. OK, I do have some medical results and have been privy to them for the past week, but wasn't quite sure 1) how to wrap my head around them and 2) how to put it all in a positive light and consider it all joy no matter what. My visit with the transplant team last week was not the best or the worst. Some may beg to differ with me on that fact, but this is the way I choose to accept it! After my appointment with the transplant surgeons, they informed me that they were discharging me from their care and onto the hepatology team. They also said that, yes, the test that indicates lymphoma transition is not only positive, but has gotten higher in copies since the last test on January 12, 2007 (despite the fact that I have been on an oral " chemo " since November, three times per day which should have eradicated it all together). " Transplant " was so vague about everything that I am really not sure if the discharge was due to the fact that they have decided against a third transplant or not, however, we are only going to look at this in a very positive light. In fact, as we were leaving, I explained that even though I could get very upset and scared at it all...reading much into it...I SAY HALLELUJAH...WE CAN GO BACK TO DR. HAMILTON for now!!!! I am really relieved because at times, I have almost felt like " a number " while involved in transplant clinic...and really, I'm sure that they cannot help that from happening since they have so many critical patients to keep track of!! The good news is that THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH HAMILTON OR LEPE (hep. doc) IN CONTROL!!! So, once more I say, whatever treatments, whatever hoops need to be jumped through...bring them on because between me, Luke, OUR GOD AND OUR PRAYER WARRIORS, WE CAN CONQUER ANYTHING!!! PLEASE BE IN PRAYER THAT ALL OF THESE UNKNOWNS FALL INTO PLACE. There are some of my medications that are having to be changed due to manufacturer's issues, blood sugar irregularities, etc. and this will more than likely take some time for adjustments. Again, what a joy it is to be writing this report to you from home and not from the hospital!! Be assured that we are cherishing and enjoying each and every " daily " moment that comes along!!
