[This website] will calculate it for you: > > http://www.unos.org/resources/MeldPeldCalculator.asp?index=98 > Those outside the US will probably need to convert their bilirubin and creatinine from µmol/L to mg/dl before entering values into the UNOS calculator. To do this divide billirubin(µmol/L) by 17.1 and divide creatinine(µmol/L) by 88.4 If a lab value is unknown, entering a value of 1.0 (normal for all 3 tests) will result in your minimum MELD Score. Sometimes INR and creatinine is not included on a blood test unless it is done specifically to determine MELD. Usually those values remain normal until the later stages of PSC. Guest guest
Thank you Tim and athon, I'll have to have a look later today. I'm sue I have those results, and I have a trusty daughter who is good with conversions to US units! I am just interested in what it might be. Hepatic Pulmonary syndrome is apparently rare, my first pulmonary spec could find nothing wrong with the lungs (although my sats are hopeless and drop very rapidly upon exercise), but he sees no liver patients. He was very apologetic for missing it! Penny (Australia)
