Guest guest
There are adult drug addicts all over the place. It doesn’t mean that the rest of us irresponsibly take drugs because it’s easier to deal with life. There are irresponsible adults that may choose medicating their kids as an easy route but there are a lot of kids out there that desperately need medical treatment in order to learn, in order to cope with mental illnesses, to handle physical pain, lots of stuff. And there are many very responsible parents who are facing some very tough decisions about whether to medicate or to let their child suffer. If you haven’t had a kid with real mental health issues, you have no idea of the pain, frustration and depression that affects both the parents and the kids who are dealing with such issues. This was a really bad situation (the child that died) and those stories have great appeal to the masses; the media will run with them every time. As with everything else in life, if you haven’t walked in those shoes, you can’t possibly know. Just wanted to put that out there. No offense taken, Arne. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of kxcp236v > When my wife was a pharmacy tech, she was appalled at the number of prescriptions for kids (Ritalin, Atteral, Strattera, etc.). I have no practical experience, but it appears to be easier to medicate than deal with them. My apologies if I've offended (again, I have no experience). > > > Arne
