Guest guest
Our son Joe died yesterday at 2:15pm. He died peacefully, pain controlled with the care of hospice and with all his friends and loving family around his bed singing his favorite songs from the Beatles ABBY ROAD. After 19 years of suffering with UC, J-pouch, PSC and CC, he is finally at rest. We will miss him terribly. The world has lost a brilliant and wonderful person. Guest guest
Bob and Tom, I am so saddened to hear of your loss of Joe. I imagine that losing a child is every parent’s biggest fear, I know it’s mine. And Tom, it must be equally as difficult to have lost your older brother. We believe that the world does not work this way, but PSC teaches each of us that it can. Early on when I was grappling with Suzanne’s diagnosis and the real possibility of experiencing what you are right now the only solace I found was in a book written by Wayne Dwyer. I listened to the audio version and all I recall is he kept reminding us that our time on earth is temporary and that we have eternal life. I do not know what your spiritual beliefs are, but I have to believe that Joe is without pain now and in a place that is full of unimaginable peace; the pain is left with us. Your description of his last moments painted a picture of such love and peace; I thank you for sharing such an intimate time with us. Please know that you have helped many of us by sharing Joe’s story.
