Hi ,

I’m not in the Bosentan study. I’ve

completed the Pirfenidone Capacity study and will begin the Pirfenidone Open

Label study later this month. I have seen an increase in my exercise

ability but I attributed it to the adjustment to more exercise. I can go

up to 4.0 mph on the treadmill but have to stay below 3.7 to keep my sats at 90.

I also walk at full elevation 10% for a lot of my time and generally am

exercising 3 days a week for between 30 minutes and 1 hour. I only use

Oxygen when my sat falls below 90. Good to hear you are doing good in the

Bosentan study. I won’t find out if I was on the real Pirfenidone

during the Capacity trial until all participants have completed the study (it could

be after the first of 2009 when initial results are to be released). I

will be on the real medicine in the Open Label study. My PFT results continue

to be stable.

Baker-Bosentan

Hi Ken,

I have been on the Bosentan

Study since July 13, 2008. The last two weeks I have experienced a

marked increase in my exercising ability. My treadmill time has

increased from 2.6--2.8 mph for 20-30 minutes depending on my o2 level not

going below 90---now I have been able to increase the speed to 3.0--3.2 mph

and go for 1 hour. The last three times I have been on the treadmill

for an hour --I have been able to do 2.92---2.96--and 3.04 miles.

Two years ago I could not even do 5 minutes at 3.0---I am totaly excited and

hope what ever is working--- keeps working.

My question is--have you

experienced any improvement in your exercising ability since being on

Bosentan? What have some of the side effects been? Thank you.
