Guest guest
Yep - mine was removed in 2001, 4 months after successful CBD dilatation and stenting (and stent removal). Mayo was concerned about At the time, we had done an informal poll of the group; of the 45 people who responded, a little over half had had a cholecystectomy. I told the surgeon the results of our poll, and his response was " I'm surprised it's not a LOT more! " I doubt if the biopsy triggered gallbladder problems. When mine was removed, it was " clearly diseased and 3X normal size " . I suspect in my case, it was a constant source of recurring infections. I think you're entitled to a celebration! Chad had surgery last night. He had his gallbladder removed, they checked on the liver biopsy sites & said everything was healing well & they did the cholangiogram & said that one side of his bile duct looked a little more narrow than the other, but all the dye was able to get to the intestine just fine....
