Guest guest
One thing that is fairly standard here and I was wondering if it was done there is getting second opinions on the biopsy. The slides are typically sent to a pathologist at another renowned facility. Here, the most used for second opinions is the Mayo Clinic. I have actually had my slides read by pathologists at three different hospitals-local, Mayo Clinic, and University of Chicago. > > hi there, and thanks so much to the people that have written back to me > since i posted my first email, i was blown away just then at the amount > of support and encouragement so soon! > > i am very new to this kinda thing and am not up on how to use this > site? any tips or directions would be great.... > > i have polymyositis, and talk on the myositis sites, but this is great > as i have just been diagnosed with pf/ild! > > i reckon i will be on here quite a bit with lots and lots of questions, > and once again, appreciate the extreme support. > kindest regards monique >
Guest guest
hi bruce! apparently the lung biopsy got sent to the usual pathologists and they couldnt determine or conclude a final analysis, so they sent it to the prince charles hopsital to, apparently a lady who is the best pathologists in this field... so she did the pathology aswell.... so im hoping its all taken care of as far as trusting the process if you know what i mean? > > >
Guest guest
Unfortunately sometimes they aren't conclusive. I do sort of see that as good news though. It could be an indication of how little the disease has advanced. > > hi bruce! > apparently the lung biopsy got sent to the usual pathologists and they > couldnt determine or conclude a final analysis, so they sent it to the > prince charles hopsital to, apparently a lady who is the best > pathologists in this field... so she did the pathology aswell.... > so im hoping its all taken care of as far as trusting the process if > you know what i mean? > > > > > >
