Guest guest
keeping my fingers crossed that the real deal comes soon.LeeWell, Jerita called back, and they didn't need me to come in. That's OK... we're still trying to get all our stuff together (people lined up to care for animals, watch kids, take over responsibilities at church etc.) so, although I'd have happily accepted if they had a liver for me, the extra time will be good too. Guest guest
Sorry to hear it wasn't your time. I was fortunate that I only got one call for both transplants. Things to remember after your transplants: Get up and move around as soon as they will let you. The more you lay around the longer recovery will take. The anti-rejection meds may make you cranky, let your wife know this so if your not being very kind to her, its the meds not you! Do what the doctors and nurses ask. Make sure that they put you on a medication schedule that will work for you. I have to take my prograf every 12 hours. I made sure that they gave it to me at 7 and 7, which worked well for me. Also, if you know that you are due for your meds, lel the nurse know so you take them on time. There may be times you will have to wait because they will want to check the anti-rejection level in your blood and they want to measure the low point. I hope this helps.
