Hello all,

I have not posted before but I have been reading the emails.

I spent a couple of days in the hospital last week. I had a flare-up

of CP; But the other problem was confusing and I wondered if anyone

else has had a similar experience.

I was covered in a painfully hot and itchy rash with edema of the

face and hands. The doctor told me that it was an allergic reaction

but I have'nt eaten, drank or used anything different.

Any information.?

Have a great day.

Pam Cambell.

Dear Pam,

Those rashes aren't fun, and it's hard often to find the culprit. I

am highly sensitive to many things so I'll ask these questions,

as these are things that have irritated me before.

Have you used a new bathing soap, changed your laundry

detergent, worn new clothes that haven't been washed, changed

your meds, slept in someone else's bed (no, I'm not trying to be

rude here), used a new lotion, perfume or cosmetics, or eaten

something you've never tried before? Did the rash appear before

or after you were admitted to the hospital?

I'm sure I've omitted something, but one or any of these things

could cause this type of allergic reaction. Hopefully they have

given you something to help the rash subside. Aveeno has

several oatmeal bathing salts that are very effective. Let us know

if you have any more questions.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi in SC

Hi Pam,

It appear to be more like allergic reation.

I had it some years ago from a common anti-

inflamatory medication called dicoflenaco,

Cataflan.

I had a red rash, with painfull edema, that

burned all my face hands and feet.

I had to used a special medication for it.

After that I do not use this type of drug

anymore.

Look, in the past I used this med without

problem, but one day, my body did not react

well.

It´s good to check what kind of stuff may

causes this to avoid problems in the future.

Could be same meal too, fish for example.

All the best,

Liane

Hello Liane,

Thanks for your response. I don't know what the

allergy was to. I sure do not feel like undergoing

testing to find out either. Since the doctor put me on

an extremely low fat diet I can't eat the same foods

that I was eating anyway. In fact I am rather lost as

to what to cook anymore and have lost 6lbs in a week

and a half.

Have a wonderful day Liane.

Best wishes,

Pam.
