Mama Sher,

Please tell Vicky I am thinking of her and definitely sending prayers up. She has been through so much. If I can do anything, let me know, ok?CaroASTHMA 1976,OSTEOARTHRITIS 2002, COPD 02/06, IPF 08/07, UIP 01/08, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS 03/08 SJOGREN SYNDROME 07/08Mississippi

Subject: A MESSAGE FROM VICKYTo: Breathe-Support Date: Tuesday, September 23, 2008, 12:06 PM

Vicky wants me to forward to you that she is not ignoring the board and she is "still around".

She had a very bad fall Saturday, backward, down some stairs. Walking up stairs and fell over backward, O2 tank and all. Hit her head on the sidewalk below with her body still "up" the stairs.

Ambulance, 911, Hospice all responded. She went to ER, which they usually do not do when there is a DNR but since it was her head...

No injuries, thank God. But she is plenty sore and bruised.

Apparently her legs are the problem. Muscle atrophy. She is in a wheel chair and Hospice tells her she can't walk anymore!

She doesn't agree, she can walk, "if I can stand up I can walk but I'm not steady. I can fall sideways really easy".

Hospital bed was brought in...remember an apartment... and there is now wall to wall beds in the bedroom.

She can't get to the computer (until it's moved) so I'm her "secretary".

She said she could hear her husband Gene screaming into the phone when he called Hospice that "I can't do this anymore you have to do something, I'm trying but I can't do this anymore!" So she is of course worried about him and his stress.

Another one of ours needing special prayers.

OK. over and out......... ......... ...

GOOD GRIEF SHER! you are such a wonderful friend to her and to this

board and to me. You are so special. I hope Vicky will be ok, what

a horrid horrid thing to have happened to her. My goodness! I can't

imagine it.

We will keep her in our prayers and hopefully she will be ok.

Sher/Vicky

Thanks for telling us Sher and let Vicky know we're thinking of her.

Amazing that she didn't get badly hurt. I suspect she'll walk more, just

not on steps. Regardless, so glad she has hospice and hope they can put

her husband's mind at ease. He needs to be there to hold her and talk to

her, but they need to take care of her.
