Guest guest
-----Original Message----- I finally got my biopsy results back and it showed recurrent PSC, scarring of the liver grade 2 out of 4 and possible early chronic rejection. Nikki, I’m so sorry to hear about your rPSC, it has to be devastating news. How are you doing? Barb in Texas - Together in the Fight, Whatever it Takes! Guest guest
Barb: I'm doing okay I guess considering the circumstances. Thank you for asking and caring, it means a lot. Guest guest
My son has chronic rejection. He has also had episodes of acute rejection. Acute rejection generally means a 48-hour inpatient stay with steroid blasts. Chronic rejection means his immunosupressant baseline is set higher and his levels are monitored more often. With kids the biggest concern is that prolonged high levels of immunosupression increase the risk of posttransplant lympoproliferative disorder. But I don't think PTLD is a big worry for adults.
