Guest guest
Pink I've had the old glucose tolerance tests too but now many are doing the tests you described where you fast and then go eat a huge meal (I went to IHOP and got eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, waffles, and toast) and they remeasure two hours after you eat. They also check hemoglobin which gives an indication of the previous six days. Even for those of us not diabetic, something closer to a diabetic diet is beneficial. Eating definitely impacts energy and sleepiness. When I took my long trip, I only ate very small amounts at a time. I even found myself stopping at Mcs and eating half a hamburger and a few fries. Ever tried PFT's after a large meal? I know some who have and done very poorly. So, the impact of eating shows right there. We all need to get traditional sleep patterns out of our minds too. If you need more than normal amounts, then get it. If you need naps, take them. That way when you do need to be awake and alert you will be more so. I never took naps before. Now, if I'm out for a few hours and come back home and sit on the sofa, I will nap. I need it. Then I'm refreshed and ready to do more after. > > From: Beth mbmurtha (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > Subject: Re: Please listen carefully everyone.... .......... ...... > To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > Date: Thursday, September 18, 2008, 10:12 AM > > > > > > > > Lou, > We heard you loud and clear dear heart. I'm sorry there's not more anyone can say to help. This disease just stinks in so many ways. Maybe as the weather cools down it will be a bit easier for you to breathe when you're out of the house. > I know that losing the ability to get out by yourself is a bitter pill.
