Guest guest
Yesterday I found out that cells from a brushing in my annual ERCP tested positive for Cholangiocarcinoma. This was a big surprise for everyone. Currently there are no tumors detectable by a CT scan and my score in the blood test for cancer markers is very low. The Doctor made a brushing on a narrowed area which lead to the diagnosis. Cancer is such a scary word and I am not sure how I feel. I am a bit numb, but grateful that the cancer has been identified very early. The doctors are meeting next Tuesday to make a plan for my treatment. I have been living with PSC for 12 years. Guest guest
Please keep us posted as to your treatment, and how things go. My doctor isn't doing annual ERCPs on me. It's been probably 4 years since I had the ERCP test. Guess maybe I shouldn't be so reluctant to have it done. -Marie Reply-To: To: Subject: Grateful for Annual ERCPDate: Fri, 11 May 2007 14:02:22 -0000 Yesterday I found out that cells from a brushing in my annual ERCPtested positive for Cholangiocarcinoma. You will be in my thoughts. Good luck next week, with your doctor's plan. Is this a good time to plan a second opinion with Dr. Gore at Mayo? Take care Joanne (, Ca; 's mom, 16, UC/PSC 2006; JRA 1998)
Guest guest
I just heard from my doctor that the Mayo does transplants on people with CCA, so this is probably a great suggestion. > > > > Yesterday I found out that cells from a brushing in my annual ERCP > > tested positive for Cholangiocarcinoma.... > >You will be in my thoughts.
