Guest guest
Karyn, Everything seems so overwhelming. There are so many battles to fight and all of this while you are fighting pain, nausea and just generally tired. Do you have anxiety? Sorry it takes so long to respond, but I think I am really having major trouble with this disease. I can't get in to see a GI, or at least the one my internal medicine doctor referred me to, he won't take my insurance. My doc is trying, but he doesn't know enough about this " thing " to really help. Although, he guessed and put me on Kutrase, which definitely helped. He has taken me up to Vicodin. But I am having to take it every 4 hours. I don't know how long it will be before I can get in to see a GI at Beaumont Army hospital ( my husband is retired marine). Gosh, I keep wondering what I did or didn't do to make this happen. Is it possible to have acute attacks from about the age of 5-8 yrs old. Then it resurface from 11-15 yrs old. With a few attacks between 25-46 yrs old. Then at 46 it goes chronic? I have always had nausea, pain, but I was diagnosed with ulcers. Of course this started in the early 60s'. I remember when my Mother died in 1997 that I had a " horrible " attack and I really didn't even put it together with the same pain as pancreatitis until last week. I just chalked it up to " stress " and ulcers. But it was always weird how the " ulcers " went away for years and came back. I know I am rambling, and I thank all of you for being here. I have been trying so hard to explain how I feel to my sister and she try's to understand, but I don't think she really can grasp the whole horrible reality. I have a GYN appt. next week. Then I have another appt. 03/04 with the internal medicine. Then on 03/14 I have an appt. with my PCP at Beaumont, hopefully, to get referred to a GI there. DAMN THIS THING.! I guess I had better go. Geez, I am soooooo frustrated. Thanks again, Joy Re: To Joy Kilgore - re: memory and stories In a message dated 2/14/02 6:18:42 PM US Eastern Standard Time, jkilgore@... writes: I have really been feeling lousy and have been in bed mostly, plus I really have been having a hard time remembering and focusing. Guest guest
Joy, I can sympathize with you as I have trouble getting to the right Dr. And now I found one in MN< who wrote to me and told he he thinks he can help. This is the most encouraging news I have received since my Whipple in 94. Now I got to get my PCP and HMO to agaree, as I sure will be a fihjt, as they don't like to refer out of area. So hang in there--- and hopefully on of your up coming Dr. apt. will help. Godd wishes and your in my prayers. Guest guest
Thank you Ed. I am beginning to get it. Without this place with all you wonderful people, I think I would go crazy. I will say a BUNCH of prayers for you that you have really found help. To bad I'm not in Minnesota, I'm in El Paso, TX. You think your doc has a twin here? Ha!Ha!
