I need to get my act together and start writing to news publications about this disease. We all hear daily about breast cancer and the need for research and the need for money etc etc etc. And of course it's true, I've lost family members to breast cancer so this is not about denying the need for research into treatment or cures for any other disease. But given the fact that 40,000 people die every year from breast cancer and 40,000 people die every year from pulmonary fibrosis one would think we'd be able to get a little bit of attention. I will continue to work at this. I've been trying to interest my local news organizations into a story on fibrosis for months, so far no go but I'm not giving up. I talk to everyone I can about this disease. Anyone who expresses any interest gets information. That's something we can all do. Unfortunately though the incidence of fibrosis is growing because we represent such a small number of people in this country it is difficult to get the attention we need. We all need to make NOISE!!
