Guest guest
hi guys! just wanted to say i had my first lot of chemo today at the hospital via iv, which took about 2and a half hours all up. they loaded me up with anti nausea drugs first and then saline solution. and gave me loads and loads of info, by the male nurse just continually talking to me the whole time about what i should know, do, and not do, and look out for with my temperature etc, they are so nice there. so far so good. am feeling spacey, as they also gave me an anti anxiety sedative, but not crazy.... well,, maybe my hubby might add im crazy!!!! speak soon, monique age 33 polymyositis dx jan 07 pf dx september
Guest guest
Glad you had just a good nurse. That makes a world of difference. The anti-anxiety was smart too as who wouldn't be anxious over their first chemo. But, being talked to, told what to expect, what to do if certain things happened, so valuable, and sometimes so missing. It has to give you a greater sense of comfort and control just through knowledge of what to expect. I thought Spacey was a permanent quite endearing Aussie quality. lol. Wish you the best in dealing with the chemo. > > hi guys! > just wanted to say i had my first lot of chemo today at the hospital > via iv, which took about 2and a half hours all up. they loaded me up > with anti nausea drugs first and then saline solution. and gave me > loads and loads of info, by the male nurse just continually talking to > me the whole time about what i should know, do, and not do, and look > out for with my temperature etc, they are so nice there. > > so far so good. > am feeling spacey, as they also gave me an anti anxiety sedative, but > not crazy.... well,, maybe my hubby might add im crazy!!!! > > speak soon, > monique > age 33 > polymyositis dx jan 07 > pf dx september 08 >

Guest guest
hiya brett! im 33 and have had myositis since jan 07, a rare muscle disease! becuase i am positive to another certain antibody in my system (lucky hay)..... i was on a higher risk of developing interstitual lung disease. this all came to pass with me noticing significant differences in my energy and breathing this jan if not before! through all the xrays, cts, a bronchoscopy and just last month the lung biopsy,(you know all the guff!) i have been diagnosed with pf... lots of disease there! i didnt know it was that serious! when they just knew i had the myositis, they added methotrexate to try to lower my pred dosage as it wasnt controlling the disease very well, but was only on for two months and last month when my dx came through they needed to try something way stronger. so i started chemo yesterday, but prob no where near as intense as what you would be having! prob way less i imagine, so they will do this regulary for the next month then scale down to once and month up to three to six months, and then another ct and lung function test to see what has happened. still on the same dosage of pred 25mg a day and antidepressants too.... lots of downs..... and my anti nausea stuff.... love to hear more from you brett.xx
