Guest guest
A packet was sent out on May 21, 2007 to BUMED regarding the high level exposure to Dioxin (including TCDD Dioxin) and 244 other toxic chemicals that those of us who were stationed in Atsugi were exposed to on a daily basis. I gave them my medical history along with several other service members (one has PBC) 30 other families are also involved. The response was IMMEDIATE! from many listed below. Honorable Burr, US Senator, North Carolina Honorable Arlen Specter, US Senator, Pennsylvania Honorable M. Gates, Secretary of Defense Honorable C. Winter, Secretary of the Navy Honorable D. Dingell, Chairman, Committee on Energy and Commerce Honorable Carl Levin, Chairman, U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services Honorable McCain, Ranking Member, US Senate Committee on Armed Services Honorable Ike Skelton, Chairman U.S. House of Representatives, Armed Services Committee Honorable Duncan Hunter, Ranking Member, U.S. House of Representatives, Armed Services Committee We will be receiving complete toxicology testing in the future which includes in depth Dioxin testing, Heavy Metals, Pesticides etc..a full workup. There is also a DNA test out that can determine chemical damage. Dioxin is an immune toxin that can upregulate the immune system. What is reprehensible is that they continued to send families with children and infants and single service members to Atsugi and even built two new high rise family housing units right outside the fenceline of these incinerators AFTER they did the intensive ambient air, soil and water testing. The contaminant levels were very high. Grounds keepers could not keep the grass or trees alive on a neighboring golf course close to family housing. Iam convinced my Crohns and the resulting PSC was triggered by exposure to dioxin. Andi PSC/Crohns dx 01/02 Modesto, California
