Of course, it's never that simple. My dad smoked in the navy, and quit after WWII ended. He was a pathologist and saw too many smoker's lungs, I guess. He did smoke a pipe, but never in the house, that I remember (Mom couldn't stand it).

I love the smell of tobacco --- as long as it's not burning!
