Guest guest
Wow, your response was so well-informed, thanks. I think you're right about the low blood pressure. I was just kind os worried on top of that because I started having the ligh-headedness a few years ago, when I also noted what I now know as PSC symptoms. Thanks again! > > The symptoms may be due to low blood pressure which you could confirm > by buying a home blood pressure monitor (Omron is my favorite brand) > By monitoring BP and noting symptoms related to blood pressure readings > you and your doctor can figure it out. Guest guest
What are beta blockers? Today, I had a follow-up with my primary care doctor, and my blood pressure was noted as 107 over I forgot the other #, but the nurse says that it was within normal limits. But sometimes ststats mean nothing. I know how I feel. What do you do when you feel light-headed? I just push through it and take long deep breaths when it gets too scary. It even happens when I'm sitting down, though. > > It is a low blood pressure due to beta blockers. Guest guest
Does Urso qualify as a beta blocker? I'm not sure what those are, and I don't take anything else besides Urso, other than a multivitamin. I was wondering if anyone else has problems with light-headedness? Guest guest
Urso is not a beta blocker. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beta_blocker: Beta blockers (sometimes written as β-blockers) are a class of drugs used for various indications, but particularly for the management of cardiac arrhythmias and cardioprotection after myocardial infarction. Whilst once first-line treatment for hypertension, their role was downgraded in June 2006 in the United Kingdom to fourth-line as they do not perform as well as other drugs, particularly in the elderly, and there is increasing evidence that the most frequently used beta-blockers at usual doses carry an unacceptable risk of provoking type 2 diabetes.[1] Beta blockers may also be referred to as beta-adrenergic blocking agents, beta-adrenergic antagonists, or beta antagonists. ---- For example, my mother takes beta blockers for chronic PVC (pre-ventricular contractions) - basically an annoying, but seldom life-threatening " hiccup " in your heart rhythm. I seem to have inherited it. It's " innocent " , in medical terms, and I only notice it under stress (late nights, long work hours, over exertion, etc.). Guest guest
A beta blocker is a medication that lowers your blood pressure. My specific medication I take is Nadolol. The doctor prescribed this because of varicies in my esophagus. They want to keep your blood pressure very low to keep from bleeding. You must not be one. You may want to check with your doctor. I would get a blood pressure monitor and keep a record of your blood pressure to show your doctor. Hope this helps.sikeea_graham wrote: Does Urso qualify as a beta blocker?
