Guest guest
Its starting off to be a great day! They are moving Ken out of ICU and onto the transplant floor. Visitation is still restricted to immediate family members while Ken is on the transplant floor. Luckily, though, the three of us will have a bit more flexibility regarding the visiting hours. Last night before the nurses kicked us out, Ken woke up and asked for something to drink. After we gave him some apple juice he asked for a Fresca! They actually said it was okay for him to have some soda - any liquid he is willing to drink at this point is good..so Dad ran down to the soda machine and got him a 7-UP (best we could do!). They are putting him back on dialysis today. Bilirubin is up to 13.5, but his ALT/ASP levels have dropped significantly. Perhaps we'll have some other milestones before the day is over...maybe we can get him to eat something!! -Kim

Guest guest
Your right, it does contain grapefruit juice, and since we just took the transplant education class last week, it is vivid in my mind, no grapefruit of any kind. Fresca does contain concentrated grapefruit juice, http://www.fresca.com/flash_content/index.jsp?guest=noeeks, I will have to check other citrus drinks in my house and start weening them before my brother ever gets his transplant. in TexasBrother, , 30, UC & PSC After we gave him some apple juice he asked for a Fresca! Guest guest
I'm so happy that Ken is doing better. Just a note - I believe that Fresca (which he was requesting) contains grapefruit juice. You may want to ccheck the label. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, April Make every IM count. Download Messenger and join the i’m Initiative now. It’s free.
