Guest guest
MB, I think I would ask or say. "OK I'm going out today and will use these tanks so meet me at the mall with more tanks. OR they can make trips to your home.. They HAVE to supply what you need. You can call medicare and verify that. You saw what I have. Guest guest
MB Yes, will be great getting their equipment and having yours still for fallback and extra. There are no new medicare rules applying to oxygen. All were in the items reversed. Owning or renting is still an option, no automatic 36 month rule. No bidding process yet. As to the statement on medicare rules only allow 2 E or 3 D that is totaly garbage. Ultimately you may end up having to talk to the facility manager as anywhere below them rules, policies, practices and preferences become complicated. Fact, medicare pays them a certain amount per month for your stationary system and a certain small amount for your portable. That includes all oxygen and all hoses, cannulas, and accessories. It's the same whatever they provide. Liquid, Gas, Big, Little. Ultimately supplying you too few tanks means they have to make more deliveries, daily if necessary. So, the general practice is to try to supply so that they only have to deliver once per week and you can very safely make it that week. If they were smart, they'd double that and make it every other week for those using concentrators. But, they try to work within the supplies they have and purchase as little additional as possible. Medicare payment amount does vary by location but in DFW area it is $199.28 per month for Stationary and $31.79 per month for portable for a total of $231.07 per month. Yes, the inverter thing is really a great idea. When I reach the stage I require more driving than I do now I intend to consider that. I use liquid but I own a concentrator that I use when I visit people with many many many many many steps and might use in the car some eventually. > > Morning right back at ya! > I'm sitting around here waiting for Liberty to bring me a new " oxygen set up " . They should be here momentarily with a concentrator, some E tanks, a conserver, tubing and all that other junk that goes with it. I stopped by the office on Friday, let them make copies of my Medicare and medigap cards and set up this delivery. The only possible problem that I forsee is they claim they can only dleliver me 2 E tanks or 3 D tanks at a time because of the " new Medicare rules " . I didn't argue this time because I still need to educate myself on what the truth actually is. I also know that all these companies interpret these 'rules' differently. I also still have the capability of filling my own tanks and will continue to do so. Consequently I'm not panicky. > > I'm anxious to get the concentrator because that will then allow me to install the other one in my car with an inverter the way Joe and Joanie did. That will be a great thing if it works out the way I hope it will! > > Beth-Moderator > Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 UCTD 06/08 > > " Take chances, make mistakes and get messy!
