Guest guest
Hi! I have noticed that some of you have mentioned that with your cycles, you have pain/nausea. Me too! I'd like to take a poll as to how many suffer pain around ovulation and/ or during menstruation. (Sorry, guys!) I need some ammo. When my new GI doctor repeats what my other doctors have said before - that there should be no correlation. AND - I was once on depo-Lupron. It did cause gallbladder attacks (my gallbladder is now gone.) I gained some weight on it. Does Depo Provera cause weight gain as well? Thanks and God bless! (You too, guys!) Guest guest
Staci - you can count me in the postive on the cycle poll - in fact, I am in the midst of it right now and makes just getting out a bed a real chore for about a week but someone has to pay the bills (and buy the cat food). Being a " Senior " has it's benefits, though, I now qualify for a 10% discount at the grocery store on Wednesdays! WH&P, Heidi
Guest guest
Staci, My name is Joy and I am fairly new to all of this (I think!lol) but yes, the pain increases, the nausea increases and I spend more time in bed during my cycle. I am 47 yrs old and am on hormones because I was having 2 cycles per month since April of last year. Each cycle lasting 10 days each. When I finally got into see a GYN (Nov,05,2001) she put me on both estrogen and progesterone. I have a uterus full of tumors and had polyps on my cervix. They also found a urinary tract infection at the time and they put me on nitroflution (sp?) for that. All this medication started at the same time. On Nov. 16,2001 I had an acute attack, put me in the hospital for 7 days. According to the GI that treated me in the hospital, it was due to the antibiotic. I was on my cycle when this happened. The next month, on Dec, 19,2001, I was put back in the hospital (again, on my cycle) with uncontrollable pain for 8 days. When my cycle came in Jan. 2002, the same thing started all over again, only I was very late and I managed to ride it out at home. (Experience is a wonderful teacher.) I have not had my cycle this month and believe me I am not missing it. I just don't know why. I finished my " 10 days of progesterone " yesterday, which of course should have already started it. I have no idea if you wanted all of this. But I would say that our cycles, which indicate hormone levels fluctuating, has a great deal to do with pancreatitis. I have a GYN appt today and I hope to get more info. We'll see. Have a great day and a pain free day. Joy Re: Digest Number 1502 Question for the Women Hi! Guest guest
Dear Staci,Joy hi. Staci I was just reading Joys reply to your e-mail. I to have more pain in my abdomen going out of my back during my cycle as well. I don't know if you had a chance to read about my story, but I started my first bout of pancreatits after taking birth control pills my GYN prescribed to try an shrink fibroid tumors. Needless to say I'm still suffering with even larger fibroids and painful cysts on one of my ovaries and now I have cp to go along with all of that.( a great combo!) Also, before I took the birth control pills I've constantly suffered with many bladder infections then and and few since then and have taken many antibiotics. The doctor who dx me said it could have been the birth control pills. I desperately need to have surgery for these fibroids but my GYN was nervous about doing it because of my cp. Have you all every heard of a GYN saying this before? At present I've started with a new GYN and I like him. He says our goal will be to get my uterus out and he says he'll be checking with my G.I. doc who I have an appointment with for the first time. This will be the fourth G.I. doc. and was dx in Nov. 98. So Staci you can add me to the poll as well. Take care. I hope you all have a good day. NAN N.O., La.
