Nov 4th is the day that Oz STOPS... for a HORSE RACE....not a Public holiday BUT we stop anyway....in the Work Place...at Race Tracks across the country..in every little Community Hall..Town Club venues....no Beer is served, no food is delivered... surgery is put on hold....Dentists Drills fall silent.....Bank Tellers get you to wait while you ALL tune in to the Tele to watch the race being run........WELL. ...all I can say is its just as well there's such a big time difference between the USA & Oz 'cos we ALL stopped AGAIN to watch the results of YOUR Presidential Election!

Congratulations to all of your who backed the Winner & Commiserations to those of you who pulled up in second place!

YOUR President affects OUR lives ....the World waits with baited breath!

Aussie to American translation:

Oz = Australia

A brief paragraph of Oz. In her kitchen, works on the kitchen

bench, keeps her dishes in the wardrobe, puts her trash in the kitchen

tidy, carried large garbage out to the rubbish bin, gets water from the

tap, and when tired goes to the lounge to sit or out to the verandah.

Her car has a bonnet in front and you're shielded by the windscreen. In

back is the boot and she fills it with petrol where her gallon is only

3.8 liters while ours is 4.5 liters. To turn she uses her indicators.

She avoids the lorry hogging the road, while she overtakes slower cars

and ultimately reaches the car park.

It's a beautiful language.

No, nothing exciting today. Been a calm quiet day. Well, except couldn't

get Marli an Opthalmologist appointment until the 18th and her primary

can't or won't prescribe the medicine she needs as she's had this

problem with her eye before. Interferon is the only thing that helps.

Opthalmologist stocks it but won't dispense without seeing her. Hate to

see the poor baby squinting. So, for now, some L-Lysine (she doesn't

like it so we mix it in her food) and we'll check it more tomorrow and

then decide whether to try something else before her Opthalmologist.
