flo- kimberly in east tn here. pam's story shakes me to the bone! however, i

am miserable now. it seems worse every day (i think its because i know i am

headed for a solution!). Despite the horrors of pam's experience i am

proceeding. my existence as is is getting unbearable and i must try and pray

i am one of the fortunate ones. didn't she say too that she didn't take her

vitamins as prescribed? I am not trying to be mean, I just think she said

that she did not take them as ordered. thanks again to pam for being so

upfront and honest about her experience. kimberly

OK, OK, I'll admit it. I'm scared. I want this surgery BAD! Actually, I want the

end results

that this surgery can produce. The good parts, that is. But after reading about

Pam's

complications...well....I'm very nervous. I am a world class wuss. I'm also

anxious to know

why her daughter would not do it again if given the choice.

Reassure me someone! Those of you who had an easy time of this surgery....please

let us

hear from you...about how easy it was. I think lately we're a little heavy on

the complications

side...could we hear from the " Aw it was Nothin' Crowd " ?

Is anyone else a little shakey after reading about Pam's problems even with her

reassurances?

Thanks for the honesty Pam. We need to not see this as a cake walk. We need to

hear and

think about the other possibilities.

Dear Florence and Gang,

I think it's the rest of the world who need the lobotomy...not us...we're

THE FEW (but growing), THE PROUD, THE MGBS....my apologies to the Marines

for co-opting their slogan, but they should be honored........

LOLOLOLOL! Thats hillarious!

I don't think MGB will cure whining. But perhaps we could get a group rate on a

lobotomy to

be performed at the same time.

Flo.

Hi. I'm Tonni. I had my surgery on Monday 4/10/00. I can say, I was

alittle scared at times, but in the holding area, I thought, if I need to, I

can always have it reversed!!! When I went to my room, I thought just sleep.

I had my surgery last,(littermates, I won't let you all live that one

down!!!),LOL Mine was around 5:00, and I was out of the hospital by 12:30

tuesday afternoon! By wednesday at 11:30 am, I was on a plane back home!! I

haven't been a week yet, and if I was told I needed it again today for it to

work, I would do it again, and again. I really think alot has to do with how

you go into the surgery. I knew this is what I wanted, and I'm hell bent

this is gonna work. I will say, this far, I have followed Dr.R's

instructions to the T. I still am so excited, I can't believe I even had it

done, except for the staples, they do itch a bit!!!

Don't be scared, Dr. R knows what he is doing, and he has done almost 500 of

these, and only undone 3!!!

At this point, which isn't even a week, even if I had to have it reversed, I

would have it done again, when Dr. R said I was ready!!

Good Luck,

Tonni

Hi,

No I have not had any diarreha. I feel wonderful. My only thing is I sip,

if I have a cracker, each bite truns into mush before I swallow it, and I try

not to dring right after it because I tend to gulp that first drink, so I

just wait. I can say, I do feel really really well. I feel that I blessed,

even though I had to be last!! Hear that littermates!! LOL I knew I was

Dr.R's last one, so while I was in the waiting area, he came over to me and

asked me if I was ok, and I told him I was fine, but I asked him if he was

feeling ok, not tired or anything, or not in a hurryor anything. He laughed

and told me he was gonna drink a soda, and I told him to kick back and ENJOY

it. I thought that way he would have a little soda, power rest, and get my

job done. Andd that is truly what he did. I feel great.

Good luck everyone

Keep praying for my littermate .
