Guest guest
Greetings, this is my first time using a yahoo group, so hopefully I'm doing this right. My name is Trevor, and I was diagnosed with PSC in August '06. I've been experiencing some symptoms lately, and an MRCP and CT scan on Thursday showed that my gall bladder was distended, so now I'm on antibiotics for 10 days. If the antibiotics don't seem to help then I expect I will have an ERCP. My mother has been a part of this group since I was diagnosed, so you may have heard about me already. I believe her username is inkywretch. I have already gotten a lot of very helpful information through her, so I'm sure that being a part of the group will be good for me. " Thank you! " to all of you in advance.

Guest guest
Sure thing. I'm 23. I just graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in December of '06 with a bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering. I'm from Tucson, Arizona originally, but I moved up to Washington State in the hopes of getting a job with Boeing or one of the other big aerospace companies up here (still working on that). At the moment I'm employed as an air pollution emission source tester, which basically means I climb smokestacks and put a probe in them to find out what they're putting into the air. As far as medical history goes, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in the spring of '01, but it was caught very early since I regularly donated blood and was found to be anemic before I had any other symptoms. So, now I'm taking antibiotics for the problem with my gall bladder, and I have a Dr. appointment on Monday. Here's hoping things go well and I can get back to " normal " life with PSC. Guest guest
Welcome Trevor: Weekends are usually quiet so you might night hear from many to welcome you. We have had an unusually stressful couple of weeks with more than the usual tx's and re-tx's and some waiting for their turns. You will really like this group. They are some of the most knowledgeable, kind and caring people I have had the pleasure to know. Many have become like family and other members have said the same thing. Extended family is probably the best words to discribe them and you can tell them anything where as some family you can't. dee
Guest guest
Welcome Trevor, My name is Ian, I've had PSC for about 18 years. If one antibiotic isn't working for you get them to try another, everbody reacts differently to different meds. When my Liver enzymes numbers were climbing back in 1999 my Doctor put me on antibodies (Ciprofloxacin & Flagolin) for a month and my numbers came way down, but a month after finishing the dose the numbers went back up. The Doctor tried another antibody (Cephalexin)(he didn't want me to become resistant to Cipro) but the numbers stayed up so he switched me back to the Cipro for two months and the numbers came back down, but someone else might react the exact opposite. Keep looking until you find what works well for you. May God bless you in your fight against PSC. There are a lot of 20 somethings or their parents here in the group.I applaud you for being here and educating yourself on PSC. Good luck with the job hunting !Lee mother of Bill. Guest guest
TrevorSeveral of us are mothers of kids with PSC so we know how your mother feels. Please take care of your self, take your meds and see a Dr when you have symptoms. If you do she will be less likely to drive you as insane as I did with my son.Martichanic452 wrote: Greetings, this is my first time using a yahoo group, so hopefully I'm doing this right.
