Ken continues to improve. His thymo (immune suppressant) went well yesterday. He still has Prograf in his system, even with the round the clock kidney dialysis, his 'piss poor' (a joke - get it?) kidneys are having a hard time getting rid of it. All of his LFT's are normal! White cell count trending down, as are amylase & lipase. His platlets are still a little low, but that's ok. This morning they took him off all oxygen, will watch closely to see how his lungs do without support. They also took him off of the insulin drip. Starting today, he will have his gluose checked 4 times a day and be given a shot in his thigh if he needs insulin. That hurts, as he's pretty sore all over. Never knew a person could have that many black and blue marks. His staples and wound are still leaking. During rounds this a.m. the doc said those two little magic words....clear liquids! Within minutes, Ken had a juice and jello.

For the PSCer's, 'Boost' has several new nutrition products, peach and chocolate. These aren't those thick icky chalky things we all know about, their juice! Ken made me taste the peach, not bad (had an aftertaste that wasn't the best, but better than those old ones.) On a personal note, I'm so very happy to hear Tim R. got the extra points and his new liver, I hope and pray his recovery goes as smoothly as Ken's is going now. Thanks Beth Ann for keeping us up to date.

That's it for today's update. Things continue to improve here.

P.S. New photo - TJ reading the 'bible' (Baylor calls the lab chart the bible.)
