Guest guest
Good Morning Friends: I have been on prednisone for over a year now, same day I went on Oxygen 24/7 by my pulmo. He started me on 30mg right away, and #2 on oxy. Each month my level of oxy. went up 1 point. Now, I put on a lot of weight, BUT the 30mg stopped my coughing, and the oxy. helped my breathing. I felt fantastic. I know that prednisone has maybe lengthened my life, and I will explain why. I do have IPF and with me jumping (with pulmo's ok) from 30mg to 20mg to 15mg and down to 10mg, but unfortunately, the 10mg does not work for my condition because the coughing came back quite hard, the breathing was tough, and I felt weak. So I assume the prednisone has really helped my situation (which is diff. from others of course). I am stable right now with the 15mg and doing ok. My level of oxy. during the day can not be below #5, as I can not breath well. When exerting like walking or cooking, or chasing after Earl, (lol) then I need it on 7-8. That really helps so much. When the respiratory therapist comes this week, Sherry, I will let you know what she says. I really appreciate your input and will tell her about it too. I LOVE YOU THIS DAY.
