Guest guest
Hi Lou, Yes, chat was great last Thursday evening. Sorry I've missed so many, but time flies by so fast. Lou, let me know what you find out about the " head piece " you can use with the Companion T from Marathon. Also, if you need any advice on using this portable oxygen unit, just e-mail me. I've used it for a few months now & had to work out some " bugs. " Like not filling it too fast - filling it with a count to 25, letting it rest for 25, filling again to 25, resting for 25 counts, etc. First, if it had any frost on the outside, I put it in front of a little fan to melt it. It fills better that way. I love the fact that I can just use the dial on the front to adjust its liter usage. I put it on a rolling cart with a telescoping handle, & use 7 ft cord tied on the handle to eliminate it getting caught on things, so I can roll it around & use it while in the kitchen, walking through the house, etc. Later, Sherry , age 64 NSIP '98, PH, Bronchiectasis, PBC Oh, one other thing. I now have my " intake " appt with a new pulmonary dr at the transplant office at Vanderbilt on Jan 6th. He'll then order the evaluation physical testing necessary to be listed for a lung transplant. I have been approved pending these tests/dr appt by the board & my insurance company - Blue Cross/Blue Shield. My former dr, Dr. Milstone, at Vanderbilt is leaving effective Jan 1, 2009! What a shock to me as he was my dr for 5 1/2 years. > > Beth, I hope you are home safe and that Matt is going to be ok. > > Hey Bruce, I called oxy. co. to refill supplies for Monday and I > asked them about the " Marathon T " that goes up to 15L, and so they > are sending out their respitory therapist next week to go over things > with me and as you said, I don't have to wear that oximizer with it, > I can use a regular cannula, thank goodness. Guest guest
Sherry I see you learned the secret they never tell you. They always tell you about drying the connectors and how to position it but most of them don't know the value of releasing the valve and stopping with it still on the connector a couple of times in the process. I think thats the biggest key to avoid freezes during fills. Interested in knowing one thing. Why do you use the Portable instead of just hooking directly to your reservoir when you're in the house? > > > > Beth, I hope you are home safe and that Matt is going to be ok. > > > > Hey Bruce, I called oxy. co. to refill supplies for Monday and I > > asked them about the " Marathon T " that goes up to 15L, and so they > > are sending out their respitory therapist next week to go over > things > > with me and as you said, I don't have to wear that oximizer with > it, > > I can use a regular cannula, thank goodness. Guest guest
Sherry Makes perfect sense. I want a remote control flow adjustment for my reservoir. There is actually a cannula that you can wear and adjust your flow downward from the setting on the reservoir or concentrator. I found it once, had doubts about it, but now going to have to find one and actually try it. I sure waste a lot of oxygen having mine turned up and then sit on the sofa and take it off sometimes. But, I cannot walk from here to the reservoir without oxygen and lots of times need it on the sofa. But when adjusting between other levels, I see exactly why you do it. > > > > > > > > Beth, I hope you are home safe and that Matt is going to > be ok. > > > > > > > > Hey Bruce, I called oxy. co. to refill supplies for Monday and I > > > > asked them about the " Marathon T " that goes up to 15L, and so > they > > > > are sending out their respitory therapist next week to go over > > > things > > > > with me and as you said, I don't have to wear that oximizer with > > > it, > > > > I can use a regular cannula, thank goodness.
